Hell Yes.

In one hour I turn 29. 6 hours ago I was handed the keys to my first piece of property. The last two hours were spent unwrapping various shapes of glassware used for varying types of liquor (me) and trying to figure out how to work the Swedish-made washing machine (Brendan).

Goals can be beautiful things when achieved.

(You know...when one bothers to finally getting around to make them because they panic that they're hurtling toward 30 with nothing to show for it.)

What I have to show for it:

21 keep(s) me blogging:

Man, that's a smooth floor! You could use it as a miniature bowling alley with half size skittles and balls. Or maybe slide along it on your butt. You've got your own little amusement park there.

Well done :)

Happy Birthday, Sweetie! Even though it's not a decadenal (I made that up as you can tell by the red, squiggly line) birthday number-wise, I would certainly say this one will always stand out for what it meant to you. Just keep a grin on your face today and everything will be a little more tolerable.

Gorgeous. Congratulations! And Happy Birthday!

P.S. I recommend skating around on that big floor in your socks before moving in any stuff. You'll never get the chance to do it again. Priorities, ya know.

I find myself unspeakably jealous.

Happy Birthday! That is a beautiful place you have. Don't clutter it up too badly. ;)

I think you should disclose to people that your new residence sports an $80 doorbell button and a BUILT-IN coffee maker... and that YOU don't even drink coffee! It's gotta be your best birthday ever!!

Wheee! It's nice to have keys to your own place. That you *own*. And now we're neighbors! Woohoo! Hey, can you come babysit, like, every weekend for the next year?

Looking forward to celebrating the last birthday you'll have in your 20's with Moroccan delectables later this evening. Hope you enjoy the crummy cake I (un)made for you.

I want to play basketball on that hardwood! Put a nerf hoop above the mantel for me.

Happy B-day!

Wow, Kara is an adult, I don't know how I feel about that.
Old, that's how I feel...It seems like it was just yesterday you were hanging out at my house with Sarah and the other giggling girlies doing who knows what. Now you are a home owner. (((Shudders)))
Your place is spectacular, by the by!

I hope you have sex in every room.

I love the look of that floor. And is that a wrought iron fireplace?

thanks everyone!

sue - you realize, of course, that your daughter beat me to this property ownership moment by, like, 7 years.

mary - there's a little wood, a little tile and some electric junk that eats up the room all pleasant-like...but i don't think there's any wrought iron.

you have a name for your new pad? maybe "k-pad" or "kara-station" or "k-station" or "kara kastle"?

Congrats! I can't wait to come see it. And how nice that you'll be able to make calls from your home now. No more stepping out from underground to dial. Can you hear me now?

You need to hurry up and get well so you can replace this blog with the more current events of your life.

It looks fantastic! Congratulations!

The floor looks like it'll be fabsome fun in your socks.

And happy birthday too, m'darling!

OK, I know you're busy moving and all, but you can't just disappear. Those of us out in internet who don't know you in real life need to be informed too.

P.S. I found 29 to be a much more traumatic birthday than 30. Maybe you've gone into birthday-induced isolation.

NICE!
Happy late birthday and...CONGRATULATIONS! I say, roll around on that floor if you want to 'cause it's YOURS! And you CAN! I can't wait to get a personal tour!
See you Wed. for pig painting.
