Half-Assed Movie Review: The Fairy Scientist

My Dad made another beautiful film...that I can post in its entirety because it's only 5 minutes! It's an entry into a contest called The Reason Project and it stars my niece, Lydia.

Now - I get to take some credit for this cinematic treasure...even though I had nothing to do with it. The book that you see her reading was a Christmas gift from me two years ago when she was 4. It sparked an obsession that peaked with my giving her the butterfly net and the magnifying "bug box" for her birthday LAST year. Now she's a full-blown woman of science. Her auntie's so proud.

My son has read about 15 fairy chapter books. He once questioned their existence but came around very quickly when we told him if he doesn't believe in things like fairies or Santa Claus, then they definitely won't come around to visit. But if he does believe, then maybe they will. Better to believe than not.

Some comedian once said he didn't believe in heaven or the afterlife, but figured he'd bring along a change of underwear just in case.

This is great.

I hope you're going to take her to see 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' this summer. It might inspire her to play Titania when she's older.

A dead body is ALWAYS a very good proof, who can argue with that!! A Mulder in the making! Congrats!

Miss Kara is going to need to take some of the credit/blame for the Fairy thing. The wings were her idea as well.

What's more important in life than fairies and make-believe? The Fairy Scientist's right, absolutely nothing.

It's about time someone proved that fairies exist, and Lydia appears more than qualified to do it.

Boy, I sure hope she and your dad win!
