What I Like - What I Want

You know, this compostable bag from Sun Chips is freaking awesome. It appeals to my hippie-side (it's innate, being Oregon-grown). I mean, I buy biodegradable garbage bags off the internet. I freak out on B when he throws his Aveeno face wash containers away instead of recycling them. And I bring canvas bags to the grocery store. I know what I am and I've accepted it.

So, I'll admit that these bags are cool. And I'm really excited about them.

Except for one thing.

Sun Chips fucking suck. They taste like a soy bean blended with grain and flattened into a chip. They taste like an envelope made from recycled newspaper. They taste solid Kool-Aid before the sugar's added. They taste like how I imagine a treasure map would taste if I found it forgotten in an attic and then ate it. They taste like crap.

If only they could do the same thing with Doritos' packaging. Sadly, I don't believe that will ever happen. Because whatever chemical crack they put in/on those little pretties would probably eat through the bag like acid. So I have a choice to make. And I think you already know my choice.

And for the record...this just makes me angry.

Just some clarification needed - the Sun Chips bag; is the picture of it BEFORE or AFTER it was composted?

The solution is to make your own hand-cooked crisps. Buy the potatoes from the market and you won't need any type of bag - just put them in your pockets and pouches. Any surplus can be used as ammo for your spud gun. You do have a spud gun, right?

It's amazing how much we recycle: I'm guessing it's 80% to 20% landfill.

And cloth bags for shopping--why didn't some genius like me come up with that twenty years ago?

As far as sun chips, the bag may be tastier.

I hear you! Oh wait! That's I read you, sorry.

Unlike you I don't mind the Sun Chips (the cheese ones), but nothing beats a good Doritos binge! Call me crazy, but either bag I lick when I've gone thru it all...

See, I enjoy the Sun Chips. Therefore, I am doubly excited about the compostable bags. Do you want me to eat the Sun Chips and send you the bags so you can compost them? Teamwork, dear. Teamwork.

I haven't eaten Sun Chips -- I'm generally a Ryvita woman, being California grown. But I like the look of that Doritos bag! I think a certain amount of junk food can be good for your soul.

I guess Im lucky I cant eat either. I used to like them both, but doritos were the best at curing PMS cravings, in conjunction with oreos.

stupid gluten. stupid pms.

A true hippie would jump into the Sun Chips with both feet, or make that both Birks.
