Lately It's All About Themes

There are two reasons this post won't be filled with doom and gloom. Two items that brought me back from the brink of bitterness on a sunshiney day.

Firstish - this literally had me laughing so out-of-control loud just now that I'm convinced it could be heard from space (and don't give me any of that "there's no sound in space" sciencey bullshit because I'm not having it):

It's so...mean. And it makes me so...happy.

And then the Waif sends me new pictures of the cuteness that is the Face...which always brightens my day...but let's me know there are some "special" ones from when they were staying at my apartment.

And here they are. Yes...those are my (clean thankyouverymuch) drawers spinning around on his "ogu" (top). This is what happens when you leave children alone with their parents. Roommate (placeholder nickname til one drunken night with Marie & amy g. results in a permanent one) likes this one because it includes a crapload of liquor in the background. For someone who doesn't drink, he's obviously totally obsessed with booze. I have a feeling there's a 'got blitzed in Vegas and woke up married to a 65 year old burlesque dancer/cabbie' story somewhere in his past. Don't worry...it'll all come out sooner or later.
Waif - that sweatshirt he's wearing is awful. Burn it. I'm buying him some decent shit this weekend.

My underwears are cute, though.

She's looks less like a horse than this woman. Another blogger compared SJP's face to a human foot. I had to admit he had a point.

wait, Im not the only one to make the SJP and the foot observation? Well, cripes.

Just a couple weeks ago, boyfriend and I were mocking SJP and I said she looks like a foot. He told me I was mean, and I proceeded to draw a face on my foot. Two circles for an eye, a thin line for a mouth, and a big ass black dot on the heel for the moley-mole. B-fizz exclaimed, "Oh my god! She DOES look like a foot! Take it away!"

MommyHeadache said...

oh thank you thank you so much for the SJP/horse site. Thank you for not being politically correct.

I hate to suck, but I liked her in footloose. She was so bright and sunshiny. In my defense, though, she's starting to look a little ...not so young... now.

I'd compliment you on your undies, but that would be weird. So here's what I'll say: Even on the crappiest day, it's always good to know that you're still wearing fun underwear.

My friend Becky said that. I have to give her credit because she's awesome and because I dig her.

In a platonic way, of course. :)

I've always felt that way about SJP, a horse or something else long and pointy at the end with an excessively large middle section. I do really like the comparison to the Royal, that is right on the money. You have to admit she is a much better match.

Regardless, baby boy steals the show. Nothing and no one can upstage him, not even undies, no matter how cute or cool says you.

That is one totally tubular rad looking "ogu"

No dissing the sweatshirt. It was functional and it had a cute little brown dog on it. But you no longer need to fear his wearing it again anyway as he's outgrown it. So you get your way. Whiner.

I knew there was a reason that she scared me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it until now.

goranas - royals are ugly. it's a well known fact. especially the english ones.

rachel - that's just fucked up. first that you made the comparison and then went and proved it. fucked up. gloriously so.

emma - i couldn't be politically correct if i wanted to be. not in my nature. so you're welcome.

nic - how pathetic am i, i don't remember her in footloose at all. maybe i need to do a re-watch. those green skivvies are from target! yeah!

mom - the face will always steal the show. and he'll make us all a lot of money.

ax - yeah, i don't know why he calls it that. i think he was japanese in another life.

waif - whatevs...it's horrible. and i believe i feel that way about a lot of his current wardrobe. i'll fix it, though, no worries.

thinker - isn't the internets wonderful for just such a finger putting on situation? i love it so.

Poor Princess Anne looks like she's whickering for a sugar-cube in that Nanas photo.

That wee Face fellow's a-veryblooming-dorable. You're right though, parents are a terrible influence on their children. You leave them alone for a minute and suddenly they're giving their kids your scanties to play with rather than spending the money to get them proper toys. I expect that money went on cheap thrills and hard liquor instead.

I don't blame them mind you. The road of parenthood must have regular stop offs at vendors of hard liquor and cheap thrills. Other wise why have kids?

See the circular inevitability of it all? It's quite beautiful in many ways.

No she doesn't... wait... yes, she kind-of does. The sinewy neck, the flaring nostrils, the doughy eyes, she DOES look like a horse.

I tried to watch Sex in the City a couple of times. Must be a chick thing - kept waiting for something interesting to happen.. waited and waited... It was like the ordeal of watching "Monsoon Wedding" but with the extra torture of commercials.

Now Sex in the city is a movie!! My advice: Try actually putting some sex in it and see if anyone watches.

God... she really DOES look like a horse.

Wow, there's no sound in space? I don't think I knew that.

Your nephew is too cute for words.
SJP is a horse face, but then I like horsies
This is another post about your skivvies, obsessed perhaps?
Princess Anne is so butt ugly.

Let's hope the other Condi doesn't take on the looks of KISS's hair - she does seem be quite infatuated with them lately!

kara said...

sam - yes. circles are beautiful. that's what you were asking, right?

dad - if you've ever been a woman and you've ever dated extensively...there are a lot of parallels to be drawn with the show. alas i don't think you'll ever understand.

sarah - that's ok, i had to learn it from 2001: A Space Odyessy. thank heaven my dad had me watch it at an inappropriately young age so i've known for a while.

sue - it's a THEME! yaaaaaaay! and yes...the Face has a mug on him.

anonymous - it's possible that i'm an idiot...very possible...but when i follow that link i get a whole mess of articles, none of which lead me to Condi loving KISS. and the desire to laugh at this but not being able to is causing my innards to atrophy.

This cracked me up! I've never even heard of SJP (being out of things in my televisionless state), but boy, someone has done a great job of finding matching horsey photos. Good thing I'm not an actress; my ego couldn't take it.

Cute wee toddler!

My kids used to love my underwear too when they were tiny (the kids, not the underwear, though I guess it was a little smaller). They were particularly fond of my prettier, racier things and often wore them on their heads.
