But here’s what woke me up…
Once the spiel was finished, the interviewer was like, “but it wouldn’t have sunk if it hadn’t had hit the iceberg, though”
The (American) scientist or whatever was like “well…”
And the interviewer continued, “I mean, that company built several other boats that sailed successfully for many years (insert factual data for the backing up of such a statement)”.
The scientist, “well, yeah”.
Worst and best interview ever. Must’ve been a slow news day.Anyway, people have been bugging me about these for a while now…so if you’re favorite thing in the world is to sit at your computer and look at somebody else’s vacation pictures – then this is your lucky day and I’ll take your thank yous in the form of candy. Gummy candy. And I mean like worms and bears…none of this Dots crap.
15 keep(s) me blogging:
Don't you go knockin' Dots. I like em.
It would only have been the best interview ever if, in response at the end, the scientist had simply jumped up on his chair, spread out his arms and screamed, "I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD" at the top of his lungs and laughed maniacally. And then interviewer had punched him in the gut. Best. Hypothetical. Interview. Ever.
That scientist needed a scriptwriter. He should have said: "An iceberg is just a big, gay piece of ice. Do you break your teeth every time you have scotch on the rocks?"
Too many pictures. I gave up waiting for the to guy in the wig to appear again.
You're an American who listens to BBC and I'm an Australian who listens to NPR. What a world!
I salute you.
This sucks, this is crap, and...look at this. Flimsy, that's what this is. I tell you, for a luxury liner, they sure skimped on a lot of stuff.
Totally seaworthy by the way, if not for that bit of bad luck. But to use copper instead of gold for the water-closet door trim. That's bloody inexcusable.
You know, of course, that the Republicans believe the Titanic is a submarine... it didn't sink, it will be popping to the surface any day now.
Also tax cuts will spur the economy and and create jobs and global climate change is fake and invented by Al Gore.
Hey, just trying to spread the truth.
waif - you and dad with your Dots. they're the poor man's gummy worms.
goranas - yes...there are too many pictures. i agree.
or - well, at 11:00 pm NPR plays the BBC. the cheap way of getting 24 hour news coverage.
kevin - see...you should've been the scientist. you're so much more interesting.
dad - what's it gonna do once it pops to the surface.
wow yes, a slow news day. I guess everyone is already bored to tears with the faceoff between Obama and Hillary. Everyone knows she's lost so why does she keep fighting? Daft really.
The researcher/archeologist/idon’tknowthefuckwhat guy should have acted like Ann Coulter to defend his facts. For some reason, it works in the world of TV & Radio but not on youtube. Oh and Elf Power rulez!
Speaking of the BBC, I saw the funniest Top Gear the other night. They had 3 old junkers racing each other for speed, hand brake effectiveness on a 33% grade hill, driving 30 mph across extremely bumpy road in the hopes no car parts would fall off and last but not least, driving around the track with the car full of water (the drivers were breathing out of a snorkel through a hole in the car roof). I'm happy to report the Triumph won although all that proved was that it was just as slightly better piece of crap. I know you were just dying to know this.
Sweet Kara, your blog is "likeable". How ambiguous of "Webcam".
Bloody hell, where did you see these skeleton chandeliers? All the buildings and the snow and the freezing bride, it's all so Vladish somehow. Another world.
I want that banqueting table though. Even if I have to run it out the door into the garden, I want it.
Great to see these shots - thanks for putting them up.
I tell you, the genuises they find for these interviews. Absolutely f*cking brilliant!
Nice pics!
Thanks for sharing! :)
I'll fight Sam for the table, but I like that long narrow tunnel and all those buildings with what looks like terra cotta tiling. And the guy in the blonde wig was intriguing, as was the Coca Cola ad.
Your blog is likeable too! Damn! I thought I was the only one!
I didn't know they did that. I listen to it online and have never heard the BBC on NPR. However our local ABC plays it. Weird.
I just finished looking at all the pictures. I didn't know you went to that place with the bones. I've seen it on the Discovery Channel. Very cool, and creepy.
I spotted Sugar Bear 3 times. :)
